Starting tomorrow, the travel lane of northbound Interstate 295 will shut down between Richmond and Gardiner. The closure will continue through May, Maine Department of Transportation officials announced today.

Apparently, Click-It-Or-Ticket is working. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported seat belt usage in Maine is on the rise. The report said seat belt compliance is up from 79 percent to 83 percent in the last year. It was at 72 percent five years ago.
