Video: CODA Spring Concert Celebrates America

Members of the CODA Chorus led by director Ed Larsen sang a medley of patriotic favorites last Sunday at the St. Francis Church in Winthrop.

Opening with the "Star Spangled Banner" followed by a rendition of the Emma Lazarus poem "Give me Your Tired, your Poor," the program moved through to "Amazing Grace" and ending with "Battle Hymn of the Republic," picking up a few old favorites along the way such as "The Gift to Be Simple" and "Blowin' in the Wind."

The songs celebrated America's natural beauty, its religious values, and a history encompassing both the bright promise of freedom and the dark tragedy of civil war.
