What's next for Cianchette?Peter Cianchette is coming back to Maine now that his time as U.S. Ambassador to Costa Rica has ended, according to a release from the embassy. Cianchette, a 2002 Republican gubernatorial candidate, said in the statement that the Bush and Obama administrations have worked to combat “organized crime, drug trafficking and gangs” in the region. A Bush appointee, Cianchette served just over a year in Costa Rica. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my country and look forward to returning to my home state of Maine,” he said in the statement.
