House 89 election set for February
Want to serve in the Maine House of Representatives?
If you live in Farmington or Industry, here's your chance.
The governor signed a proclamation Monday setting Feb. 3 as the date of the election to fill the House District 89 seat. The seat is vacant because Janet Mills was elected by the Legislature to serve as attorney general.
That means there's a wide open seat for any Republican, Democrat, Green Independent or unenrolled candidate. Each party committee has until Jan. 5 to submit a nominee.
If you're not enrolled in a party, you have to get 50 signatures from registered voters and turn them in to the Secretary of State, also by Jan. 5.
Call the elections division at 624-7736 to get the proper forms.
