Do you trust Maine's Congressional delegation?

A new poll released by Rasmussen Reports shows only 13 percent of the public chose Congress as the branch of government they trust the most.

Not a huge vote of confidence.

Of those polled, 34 percent say they trust the Supreme Court the most and 27 percent chose the executive branch. Then there was Congress at 13 percent.

One ray of hope for Congress?

Twenty-seven percent said they were undecided.

So, if you had been polled, where would you come down?

I’m extremely disappointed with the performance of the current group of liberals in charge of this state. It's well over due to have a more balanced mindset in Augusta. Contrary to the beliefs of so many Mainers, the GOP is not evil, in fact most folks I have talked to that claim to be Democrats, share the same conservative values of the GOP. Work hard, pay your share of taxes (and keep them to a fair level) keep government to a minimum, abide by the law of the land, and raise a family in a safe and wholesome environment.

Our country was founded on the beliefs that men(women) should be free to chose their own fate and prosperity. Somewhere along the way government has became too big and too involved in our lives, and now is on the verge of controlling every part us. Prosperity has become an evil thing.

With the current financial state of America and everyone cutting back, it's time for this state to do the same starting with the house and senate; both are way too big for the demographic they represent. With last week’s legislation to legalize gay marriage put into action (contrary to the opposition of the majority of continuance) It’s obvious that they are not interested in representing the people, but more so of their own personal agenda.

In the next election I think Mainers should listen to the candidate’s views, and vote according to the issues and ideals the candidates stand for before they just vote along the party lines. Then they won’t find out after it’s too late that the person they voted for actually does not represent their interest and morals.

I trust Congress to grow the nanny state and reduce freedom. I especially trust Senators Snowe and Collins to do thjis in an opaque and confusing manner. Rep, Michaud and especially Rep. Pingree will be more transparent about it.
