Baldacci disapproval rating up

Gov. John Baldacci’s disapproval rating topped 50 percent in the most recent Critical Insights survey.

At 53 percent, his disapproval rating is the highest he’s ever had. Of those surveyed, 40 percent approve of the way he is “handling his job as governor” and 7 percent didn’t know.

The analysis included with the survey notes that the Democratic governor has experienced an “increasingly negative trend” over the last three years. Driving the negative trend are men in the 2nd Congressional District and those with children at home, according to Critical Insights.

 Another interesting factoid?

Residents who believe health care is most important tend to give Baldacci high marks, while those who think taxation is most important give him low marks.

Baldacci will leave office due to term limits in January 2011. Just one year from now — June 2010 — the parties will hold primaries to narrow the field of contestants who want to replace him.

Comments

I for one can not wait for the Bald one to be gone.  I do not care for his agenda nor his shift and shaft taxation policy.  Universal healthcare is a joke.

I think compared to other states and the economical turmoil that they are in, Maine looks pretty good. This is due to Gov. Baldacci and the great work he has done for us.
