Traffic snarls expected thanks to transport of giant wind turbinesState police are warning drivers to expect traffic tie ups on Maine roads next week as several tractor trailers will be transporting windmill turbines 170 miles from Jackman to Chester. The convoys will take Route 201 to Skowhegan, Route 2 from Skowhegan to Hermon, travel through Bangor, and go north on Interstate 95 to Chester in Penobscot County. The roads in Bangor are Odlin Road, Hammond and State streets and Hogan Road. State police, who will escort the convoys, said those surface streets will be blocked during the convoy travel.
