Reminder: I-295 northbound lanes close tomorrow

The two northbound lanes of Interstate 295 shut down for the summer at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow.

The project, a complete reconstruction of 18 miles between Topsham and Gardiner, will force southbound drivers to detour on Route 201, while northbound travelers use the interstate’s southbound lanes, officials from Maine Department of Transportation said.

The construction will also include road shoulders being reconstructed and new guardrail installation.
