Against the flow of trafficIt’s official: The Kennebec Commuter has seen it all. This morning, a driver somehow used an exit on Memorial Circle to ENTER the rotary and start going the wrong way toward the bridge. They drove about halfway through the rotary, as other cars halted in the middle of the circle and other entrances. Fortunately, there was no accident and no one was hurt. Of course, this begs the question of how a driver could make what seems to be an obvious mistake. Are there enough signs and striping to indicate to drivers what direction traffic is supposed to go in the Memorial Circle vicinity? Would it be easy to make such a mistake? What are your thoughts? Someone failed the IQ test! Seriously, that is just plain dumb! Whoever decided to drive the wrong way in the rotary should have his or her driver's license revoked for life because s/he is obviously too stupid to drive.
