Maine leads 17-13 at halfSYRACUSE, N.Y. — You read that right. Maine is ahead 17-13 at halftime over Syracuse, following some gutsy plays through two quarters. After trailing 7-0 on an early drive by the Orange, Maine kicked a 35-yard field goal, recovered an onside kick and QB Warren Smith tossed a 56-yard touchdown on the next play to go up 10-3 with extra point. Syracuse marched back, but Smith-Williams connected again on a 14-yard TD pass with 4:58 to go in the second quarter. Maine's defense held Syracuse to a field goal on its last drive and it stands 17-13 Maine at halftime. OF NOTE: Maine has its new QB. Smith has taken every rep, and Mike Brusko has been lining up at receiver and punting. Injury update: LB Mark Masterson has not played, nor has center Steve Shea. Bookmark/Search this post with:
